05 CD Changer Help

I know this has been discussed and I did a search, but didn't find what I was looking for. None of the sites go up to 2005.

I have an 05 Mini Cooper with the standard CD/Radio, (no HK). There is a harness in the boot to plug in a CD Changer. What has to be done to install a aftermarket CD Changer in an 05 and what changers do you all recommend??

In order to plug in an aftermarket changer, you will need what is called an interface. There are assorted interfaces made by soundgate and blitzsafe (the two most popular choices). Look for MINI/BMW and the aftermarket changer you plan on using in the packaging or description of the interface. If you can tell me which aftermarket changer you plan on using, I can point you in the right direction.

Jeremy, first of all, "Thanks" for the response.

I haven't really decided on which changer. I just put a Sony in my truck last fall, so the advantage there would be the cartridges. Already have at least one. It's a 10 disc changer and I'm satisfied with it. Not sure the model # though.

Does this help??
