I'm stumped...

I purchased a Clarion ProAudio MP3/WMA head and Sirius tuner from Crutchfield. The wires for the harness adapter and head unit are color correct. Wired everything up and got nada. Called Crutchfield tech support, double checked the wiring... still no power. Crutchfield has offered to replace the unit(suspecting damage), but I'm almost certain it's something rediculously simple. I'm about ready to take it up to the wiring guru at the Dinan shop and pay him to do the install. I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooo pissed, In 20 years I have never had this problem with a stereo installation. I've had minor issues before, but I've always been able to figure it out. I even compared the wiring to the set up in my Z3(almost identical). I just don't get it, maybe the car gods are punishing me for driving the Mini, instead of the Z3

That is kinda weird. Just to test to see if the deck is good, you could try and connect it to power/ground separate from the stereo harness and see if it works?

wiring

All it takes is one bad pin in one of the wiring harnesses... double check no pins are bent over. If not, and all colors match, check the fuse box, or better yet, just replace the fuse for the radio with one higher rated (upgraded deck, just might draw more power)... you may have a bad fuse & not know it. Good luck.

I had a similar probably after trying to install an HU I already had using a harness from Crutchfield. The quality of the harness was absolute Sh!%. Half of the pins would pop out of the housing when I would attempt to plug it into the factor wire harness. Pins were loose and misaligned. I just kept screwing with it until it worked. I have had it in since april with no problems. I was impatient so I made it work. If you are patient, send it back and order a harness from someone else.
