Problem with Self-Installed AUX input

I need some help!

I just finished installing the AUX input cable for my 2004 MINI with the HK stereo. When i plug my ipod in the sound only comes out in the right speakers. I installed the aux so i could install a portable SIRIUS receiver without using the FM cradle.

Why isnt the AUX cable in stereo?

Please Help

The problem could be a couple things. First, make sure the patch cord you are using between the iPod and the aux jack is a stereo cable, and that it's working properly. A stereo cable will always have two insulating rings (usually black or white) near the tip of the plug, and on both ends; a mono cable has only one. Also, make sure that the plugs are fully inserted in both jacks (the aux jack is pretty tight). Also make sure that the connector has been fully inserted into the back of the head unit. Check to see that the wires are not loose at the radio connector, and that the cable itself near the jack end is not kinked or pinched, and the 'converter' (blulge in the aux cable about 6 inches from the jack end) is not bent, piched or twisted (there is a circuit board inside). Barring any of these as problems, you could have a defective aux cable.

So I just bought a 2006 MCS and it has nav and the HK stereo. I just installed a aux input which was taken from a 2008 model it has three wires a yellow black and clear. I saw a post on which pins to connect them to and to move my nav voice to the same connection and it worked... PROBLEM... I am only getting the vocals from the passenger side. Mid range and bass are working but not vocal. It works perfect with a cd mp3 and the radio but not with the aux.... Any suggestions?

Greatbear I saw your 2003 post - aux addition and nav - great -
can - if I may - ask you to tell me how to tell the radio I have?
2005 mini (not s) with navigation. also - the mention to thank classic mini - is this where I order the aux cable?
not afraid to get into this car - I have already had to replace wiper blade motor and assembly - went without a hitch
thanks

oh also - since i am asking - can you tell me how to get radio out?

thanks again
