MINI OEM iPod Interface - Troubleshooting

Yesterday I installed the OEM iPod interface into my R53. Installation was pretty smooth, once I figured out how to remove the pins from the stock wiring harness. After I got everything connected, I plugged up my iPod nano, only to find it wouldn't play songs properly, nor charge the iPod.

Prior to connecting the iPod, I made sure to setup some playlists on the iPod, such as MINI1, MINI2, MINI3, etc. But when connected to the interface, it immediately plays songs in alphabetical order by song title. How do I change this?

Also, concerning the charging, while it's connected, there is a white screen on the iPod itself, displaying 'MINI' and the song title, etc. There is also a message that says, 'Charging is not supported by this device'. This is one of the reasons I got the interface, was that it charged the iPod while connected. Is there a chance some wires got connected incorrectly, preventing this?

The playback sound quality is fine, only not in the order that I would like. So I think the connections are OK; but I'm not sure why it's not charging. I'm 99% sure that shuffle is turned OFF on the iPod but I will check that again.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Ryan
