Navigation & Audio Nav DVD Covered Up?

Nav DVD Covered Up?
I'm new to the Mini community - just bought a 2006 Cooper S Convertible, and I'm working on updating my NAV DVD. When I look under the plastic flap below the passenger seat, there appears to be a plate of some sort, not a DVD drive.
Has anyone else seen this? I'm not sure what to do from here. Is the DVD drive behind the plate?
