Navigation & Audio 2008 Cooper Clubman Navigation Update Question
2008 Cooper Clubman Navigation Update Question
I see that a "final" update is available for $200, however I also note that it is now a 2-DVD set, rather than the original 1 DVD. My question is what is the procedure here? I assume I would insert whatever disc relates to the region in which I live, i.e. Florida. But if one takes a road trip from Orlando to Los Angeles, just how does that work? Do the nav stop somewhere and tell you to insert disc 2? Plus, is just putting the disc in all you have to do to get the system operating again with the updated maps?
Thanks.....
Thanks.....
You will be prompted to swap discs when you go out of the covered area. Putting in the disc is all you have to do. This isn't new for MINI. The old CD based system used 10 discs to cover North America.
I called 2 local dealers to ask about the upgrade one wanted $199.00 and other asked $135.00...why wouldnt they charge the same amountor to be withing few dollars off. I am not sure what will I get with $135.00 vs. $199.00, not much help. I am having a DVD read Error message when my orignal DVD is inserted for maps (2008 Mini Cooper S), don't want to spend the money and find out it's not the DVD. I would sepnd it had I known it is the DVD...big Delimma...What do I do??? open for advice please.
