HK and aftermarket Sub

Has any one added an aftermarket powered sub such as a Infinity Bass Link or a Kenwood to a HK system ? If so, how did you get a signal to the system ?

I am running an amplified 10" kicker subwoofer with my hk system. I tied into the hk amplifier and ran a power wire to the battery and grounded for the amplified box. Do a search here and you can find the correct wires to tap into. I cannot remember the guy here but he had the color coded wires from the amp.

You can also use this:
Amazon.com : Integral Audio MINI Cooper Amplfier/Speaker Wiring Harness R55 R56 R57 R58 R59 : Vehicle Amplifier Wiring Harnesses : Car Electronics Amazon.com : Integral Audio MINI Cooper Amplfier/Speaker Wiring Harness R55 R56 R57 R58 R59 : Vehicle Amplifier Wiring Harnesses : Car Electronics

If you do a manual tap, make sure you tap the output from the HU/input to the amp, NOT the output from the amp. The amp output has significant eq and limited low freq response - see below (orange is HK amp rear output, red is front woofer output)

I use one of those.

Powering an Infinity Basslink, power wired directly from the battery, ground to the bolt next to the passenger seat (8 AWG), turn on wire from the power port in the boot area.
