Added some bump this weekend
I finally got around to adding in a slimline subwoofer to my rear seat delete project. I had been previously using a Polk 10" MM(which totally kicked) but the huge box was unsightly and I wanted a cleaner look to my rear hatch compartment. So, I designed a box that would fit in the boot space and would be level with my rear seat delete panel. I will eventually finish the false floor to cover the box and fit flush with the rest of it.
Box dimensions are 30x13x3". Woofers sit up another 1/2". I used two Pioneer 8" subs, wired to 2ohms to my JL amp pushing 300 watts to them. It really fills in the low end without being obnoxiously boomy or rattly. I'm happy with the sound quality and pleased with my craftsmanship on this project. I realize both box and driver selection are compromises, but they fit within my design goals to keep woofers hidden and space clutter free. Comments are welcome.
