So… crazy question time… I'd like some more space to install a long amp under the passenger seat of my R55S.

The easy way to do this neatly is to unbolt the DSC module, drill a couple mounting holes in the forward edge of the underseat recess, and bolt it in there, like this:



The question in my mind is this: Is the DSC module there a sensor (in which case, moving it is a very bad idea), or just a computer (in which case, it shouldn't care at all where it lives).

I've scoured NAM and Googled, and haven't been able to find any information that really documents what this module is. The only thing I've found is a warning not to move it in the documentation for Integral Audio's SoundStage. I'd tell people not to screw with their DSC system too if I were selling a DIY kit, just for liability reasons, so I don't really take that as the Word of God.

Does anyone have any info about what that module actually does?

On most cars its a yaw sensor.

Moving it will change the calibration.

That would indeed be a damn good reason not to touch it. This would also explain why it is held down with three improbably large bolts.
