Navigation & Audio Bluetooth Retrofit
Money.
Couldn't help myself. There are a lot of threads here on this topic but what you have is buttons and wiring thru the steering wheel. You don't have the computer module that you need to interface it all together.
MINI does offer a retrofit kit so you can get it from them or one of the other parts vendors here like ECS tuning.
Once installed I believe you also need to have some programming updates as well. Dealer normally charges for that.
Or you can go aftermarket. There are several makers that have BT units that can be added to your car to activate the buttons. I went this route on my Gen 1 R50. I used Parrot and a plug and play wire harness from newministuff.com in the UK. No splicing required.
Good Luck.

Hi Guys I purchased a parrot MKi9200 with a plug and play wiring harness for Mike. I have not received any of it yet. In the mail. I also purchased a 2012 professional radio from Mini from Steve here on NAM. It has bluetooth combox and satellite radio already built in. I am hoping when I plug it up it will all work. Looks like I will a satellite antenna and a microphone. Has inputs on the back of the radio. I heard the satellite antenna is under the passenger seat but I have not check it yet. I have a 2009 mini and if the antenna connection is not there then I guess I can use a standard satellite antenna. The microphone kit comes with wiring. Not too expensive about 40 dollars. I might try to find someone who races and have taken their out. Normally these guys do a great job removing items. But I will keep you up to date on mod. I already have my old radio out of the car. So as soon as I receive the new radio I should be able to plug it up right away and see what happens. I think the professional radio has a cd changer instead on a single cd player. At least I hope. Thanks.

I purchased the parrot MKI9200 with Display and the no holes kit and a wiring harness from Mikethemini in UK. I paid 119.00 for the parrot through Amazon and got it from Great Lake Electronics brand new unit. With Free shipping. I paid Mike 189.00 for the plug and play harness and the no holes mount. Now there is a YouTube Video of a guy with his Display for the parrot in a Pod to match the mini and I found them once on the web but can not for the life of me find them again. The pod comes with silver and chrome rings and it was like 65 dollars. Now today I purchased a whole new radio with satellite and bluetooth for a mini cooper From Steve here on NAM. He removed his radio from his mini after 500 miles and had it for sale here on NAM. So I purchased it from him hoping when I get it I will simply plug it up with the factory harness and it will working hopefully. He had the professional radio which I believe will work with no mods. It has satellite radio and bluetooth already built into the radio so it should work. We will all find out when I receive it. I am going to try this radio first. If it works I am going to sell my Parrot and stuff. I will have no need for it. I thought my car had phone controls. I knew it did not have satellite and I have been with Sirius radio for about 15 years. I sold my BMW which had satellite radio in it so I was going to put the time I had left on a portable Onyx radio that fits in the center console almost prefect. Sirius sent me the wrong FM Direct Connector for a Domestic car and not a European car. So we had words and I told them to cut it off. So they did and refunded my money I had paid in. So they sent me a brand new Onyx radio, mount, power cord,fm direct cord and antenna for nothing. I have this same radio in my Lexus and it works great never a single issue. So I have been jumping through hoops with no progress now. My car is completely torn apart now and I have the radio completely out of it. So trying the new stuff should be easy. If the mini radio does not work. I will sell it one Ebay since I feel I stole it from Steve. I have seen similar radio selling for 4 to 5 hundred dollars. He also is sending me the center console bracket since he put a aftermarket radio in his mini and had to purchase a double din face plate. So Either way I got a good deal. If the radio does not work I will install the Onyx satellite radio with the parrot and rock and roll. If the mini radio works I will sell the onyx and parrot and go onto the next project. I have a Valentine One Radar Detector for sale if someone wants one. I have 4 of them. Best on the market.
