I have a question, what is up with the antenna?
I just installed a new Alpine 9815 in my MINI.
Great head unit!
However, I non of the AM stations come in. There was a new antenna put in during the install, but nothing.
So I bought a new one from Crutchfield along with the PAC. Installed it last night....same result. No AM.

Am I missing something?
What is going on?
Any tips or tricks?

Please help me

 

Jim to the rescue!

I had the SAME problem and I have a fix.

Hook up the remote turn for the power antenna from the Alpine to the factory Mini power antenna connection (blue wire), that is used to power an antenna amplifier.

I can get Chicago stations from Madison now whereas before I couldn't even get local AM from the parking lot of the station!

Yes you have to supply power to the antenna booster on the Mini. I had this issue with mine as well and it drove me NUTS. You can use the remote wire or most decks have a power antenna wire used to actualte a power antenna up and down. THat is ideal for use.

Now I can listen to the Diamondback games.
