"Traffic info cannot be received at this time"

The most annoying notification my Navi system has given me so far is this one. It seems to work intermittently. I've tried turning the "receive traffic info" off and back on with no luck. It's not the GPs system I don't think because the maps are accurate and tracking correctly...

Any thoughts on how to fix this? I'd love to monitor the traffic situation in the morning (ugh). I thought maybe I needed a software update and I do, but I'm having the same problems as a lot of people where the update isn't "compatible". SUPER annoying. It appears the software update is to fix phone compatibility though, and shouldn't have any affect on receive traffic info, right?

Looks like poor Ruby will be off to MINI repair if I can't figure it out soon.

Isn't the traffic info received over the radio? How is your radio working, no dodgy antenna?

I'm not sure exactly, but the radio stations come in nice and clear...

This does bring up an interesting point though because this weekend I took the car through the carwash, and before doing so the wash guy unscrewed my antenna and handed it to me. I was like WHAT?? He assured me it was fine but after the wash and rescrew, the radio make a few weird pops when I started her up and then was completely normal. You're right that I haven't been getting good traffic reports since.

Hmmmmm....I guess it's possible the antenna connection was damaged, or perhaps water got in somewhere. I'll do a little tinkering today to try to fix the antenna. THANKS!
