I just purchased a 2006 mini cooper S convertible and on the steering wheel is a telephone button but the manual does not explain how to pair to your phone can someone please advise.

If memory serves, it's there for looks only. Only works on models sold in Europe.

Correct. I spoke with a MINI parts mgr recently and he confirmed it isn't functional.
