Why use a 2004 Head Unit?
Does the 2004 Head Unit have Preouts???
What size speakers are in the door panels 6 1/2 or 5 1/4??

I had heard that the 2004 HUs had preouts, but you're better off getting an aftermarket HU.

As for the speaker sizes, please learn to use the search function but it's such a simple answer:
Front - 5.25 stock with limited depth. 6.5 will fit. Almost all aftermarket drivers require a half to one inch spacer. Actual depth can be found in another thread.

Rear - 6x9. Very deep and many have been able to seal the area behind the speaker with a volume of about .5 cf.

Yes. It will work. I have a 2004 hu in my '02 MC. It was installed so that I could have the AUX input to work with my iPod.
