Ipod Interface kit for a 05' R53

My wife just purchased a 05' Cabrio s' and it did not come with an aux port. Do anybody know if there is a ipod interface kit for the factory radio? Any DIY's? Any help would be appreciated!

You are in the second gen section here and your question would be better answered in the 1st gen section as you state your car is an 05.

Have a look at the link to MiniMania the first 2 items are what you want, basically the 1st one will allow you to control the music on the iphone and the second one is just an aux port.

I'm just going to change the stereo in my R52 to a Kenwood with bluetooth & A2DP that way you will also get handsfree calling. If you have the MFSW you can also get an adaptor to control the volume via the steering wheel.

'05 and up do have an aux in port on the back of the radio. You just need to buy the $50.00 (I think) cable to add the jack up front. There is also an iPod specific interface in the $250 range that uses the CD changer input.

Now I have to remind you that posting a question without doing an intro is bad forum etiquette. Welcome, and please make your introduction in the proper forum.

I just installed the OEM aux input (purchased from WMW) in my '05 MCS the night before heading down to MOTD so we could use my wife's 4th gen iPod Nano for the trip. It's a pretty straightforwad install, although I'd recommend not trying to do it in the rain or in a poorly lighted space the night before a road trip!

The setup is nothing fancy -- you still control the music through the iPod or iPhone or whatever -- but works very nicely, especially in combination with a SendStation PocketDock adapter and a 12-volt USB charger -- I use the Scosche powerPLUG -- allowing line-out audio and mini-USB charging at the same time.

Yes the Aux input kit is by far the cheapest and easiest way to use an Ipod in an R50/R52/R53
