Ok so I feel this is a very weird problem and hav no idea if this is expected or not.

I have a 2011 Clubman S with HK and an iphone connected. I do not have songs loaded on the iphone but use spotify instead. Here is my question, on the radio there is the m button and then the left and right arrows next to it. The following functions work, press left arrow- start song over, double press left arrow-go to previous song, press and hold left arrow-rewind song, press and hold right arrow-fast forward song, press right arrow - NOTHING, repeatedly press right arrow - NOTHING.

So this is my question, why do the arrows perform all normal functions EXCEPT skip to next song.

My Best Guess

Because the next song in the list is probably not been started in the down load que until a certain point in the song playing. If that is the case there is no way for the car to know what to do.

 

Thanks, I never thought of it that way.

However, with spotify you have the ability to sync offline playlists in which case it is not downloading anything. The song already exists on the iphone. Due to that I am not seeing a difference between skipping ahead or skipping backwards, regarding the car knowing what to do.
