Auxiliary Jack issue

My 07 R56 makes a bit of a hissing sound when I plug my iPod into the auxiliary jack. I've used multiple devices and multiple adapters, but I always get the same hissin sound. The sound isn't completely awful and I can listen to music, but I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem.

I was looking into the iPod adapter that connects into the stereo, but it's very labor intensive and fairly costly. Was wondering if anyone else has run ino this problem and what solutions have worked.

Have you played with the volume on the ipod too? On mine I have to go up on device volume and down on the stereo volume in order to reduce hissing.

I have the same problem. I have a feeling it's something behind the the actual input. If I jiggle mine just the right way it stops hissing completely. i'm taking mine apart Friday to inspect it and I'll report back if I fix it. I will tell you that the iPod input stinks in my opinion (perhaps mine is a bit outdated). The sound is weak compared to the aux and the display to change songs on the dash is complicated. Stick with the AUX in.

PLEASE head over to the NAV & AUDIO section that is where all the info on this is. There are many threads over there discussing this problem. Most likely it is a grounding issue which many have had.

Buy a ground loop isolator from amazon. it's about ten bucks. totally gets rid of all the hissing.
