Seeing as how the speedometer option was to expensive ive decided to fix the gps laser, i opened it up today and took a look ran all the basics, and well now im stuck because i cant seem to find a laser or mechanism that would fix this!
does anyone have any experience in replacing this and where to buy it

 

If you are comfortable with DIY electronics/soldering, look for SANYO SF-HD4 Laser Head on the web (eBay is one source).

Oh wait a minute this is a mark III if that makes a difference between lasers.

 

Yes, it makes a difference (different mechanism, CD vs DVD).

Well im at a loss now I installed the laser and now the disc wont spin? Scratch that i desoldered the blob and have it spining but i cant hear the laser moving back and forth nor does it wont to read the disks.
