Installed a complete system a few months back, 6.5" infinity kappa components in the front, 6x9 infinity kappas in the rear,, 8" JL w3v3 sub in a ported box, all powered by a 700w, 5 channel JL amplifier. The car sounded incredibly loud, clear, clean, with deep bass. It was actually almost retarded, how good it sounded. Now, the stereo will only play high notes from the front right side of the car, nothing else. idk why it all of a sudden crapped out. i had it professionally installed because i knew how much of a pain it was to install a system on a mini. so before i take it back, i was hoping that maybe someone here knows something i can do to check to see whats wrong with it. any suggestions?

 

Sounds like the amp may be bad or have some blown fuses or some of the wiring they did has failed. I would recommend taking in back to them and having them look at it.

 

Yeah that's what I figured I'd have to do, I was hoping that maybe there was something basic I could check on my end, because as we all know, Minis aren't the easiest cars to take apart. But that's actually the 2nd amplifier I've had. Both brand new, same brand and model. And I just wanted to avoid having to be without my car for half the day while they try to figure it out. But I have a year from the install date to get the car worked on in the event of any defects for free, so not too bad. Thanks though! I'll update this once they figure it out so if anyone has the same issue, maybe this'll help?
