electronic issues

So my 2007 mcs ipod interface doesn't seem to agree with the ipod touch that I hooked up. The ipod touch says "charging not supported..." but seems to hook up, but there's no indication of the mini stereo actually picking up that it's there. Also my RDS has been a little strange since I picked up the car, it only displays info for maybe 1 radio station about 80% of the time. The other presets I have don't display anything but the station ID aka "DC101." And finally my third question, on an mp3 cd, how do you skip forward to the next random track, not just the next track on the cd without throwing it out of random mode? Thanks for the advice everyone.

I think I know what the charging issue is. I had the same problem with my GTR when I got it. The Iphone would work and playback fine but charging wouldn't. If you go to the Apple store you can buy a attachment hooks up to your ipod touch. I think its call a scosche passport. Using that item for all the GTR owners made the Iphone, Ipod charge and play back with no problems.

This is a very common problem with iPhone/iTouch. APple changed the charging requirements and that broke the MINI and some other cars.

Are you using the MINI supplied cable? if so what is the part number on it? you can look that part nubmer up here on NAM and find out if that is the newer one or the older one. The newer ones should work just fine.

If you are not using a MINI supplied cable then it will not charge and the MINI will NOT see the iTouch to play music off of it.

I am not sure where your area is but I have noticed in the Boston MA area that a number of stations have dropped RDS all together. Not sure why but it seems to be going away around here.
