Audio over Bluetooth Only

There are many different posts out there that discuss different ways of playing music through your mini.

This forum is strictly to discuss audio over bluetooth. It does not come standard. Does anyone have any advice on upgrading the system to enable this function? I do not have the navigation screen.

I have 2012 Mini Cooper Hard Top no Nav.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have everything in my 2012 MC and it plays BT audio perfectly. iPhone doesn't allow data transfer over BT...so no album art or really anything on the screen...but it works great.

Screen?
Does this mean your MC is equipped with the MINI Connected or MINI Connected with navigation?

Thanks none the less, but I am looking for info on a MC with the stock sound system.

Do you have the iPod connector? I'm not sure if the stock sound system has an aux jack or not… but if it does… I found this nice product called the "TuneLink Auto" system.

It plugs into the cigarette lighter and then plugs into the aux jack and then will stream bt audio to the stereo. It will also do FM transmitting. It has a matching iOS application that does the setup.

What I like about it is that it does NOT do the phone. This makes it perfect for a MINI with the BT handsfree but NOT the Connected. If you get a device that does phone and bt audio…

All that beng said, I decided to go back to a straight up dock to aux cable in my car so i can charge and play. I have a TuneLink Auto that was used for a week that I'd sell if anyone is interested, let me know via PM.

Thanks for the response.
After thorough forum investigations, I found that you can do all audio over bluetooth functions with the MINI Connected system, but there is no such possibility with the stock system.
I have dealt with third party systems like the one you are talking about macboyx and they usually are hindered in quality and/or performance.

I have opted to just keep my MINI stock stereo and am going to purchase a Sony stereo system that has audio over bluetooth, as well as capability for steering wheel controls.
The system will be cheaper and better than the MINI Connected.
