The map version used in your 2007 MCS is called "Professional" or CCC. If the DVD label says that, it should work. BMW and MINI nav systems use compatible discs.

However, I'm surprised that any 2011 BMW still uses a nav DVD. I thought they have all switched to maps on hard drive or flash memory.

They did switch to the CIC which is hard-drive based and uses a completely different system, but that does not mean newer navigation discs will not be available for the older systems.

Col127, you can use the 2011 BMW Professional Navigation DVDs in your system... In fact you can even find them on the internet and burn them on blank DVDs

The system can read them, but will instruct you to shut down the system and wait for 5 min. before the system is available again.

Search on a torrent site for "BMW Professional DVD 2011 North America" and you will get the answers I think there are two DVDs, one for the east and one for the west coast.

Re DVD on the Internet, any links you can provide? Thanks !
It IS HDD-based but the DVDs are how the maps are updated. Other than updating you won't need to have the DVDs in the player. After that you can use the DVD player to watch DVD movies.
