I know the speakers will work and I know the sub will but, the headunit has got me worried cause I am just afraid the MINI will freak out over something getting plugged in. I have a friend helping me with choosing all this, he might even help me install it. Any help?
The bigger questions are:
1. do you mind loosing your car data on the screen in the speedo. I.E. trip computer, average mileage, etc.?
2. if you dont want to loose that info where are you going to put the OEM head unit and how are you going to connect it back to the Speedo?

It will not fit without moving the OEM head unit.
You will either have to take the OEM head unit out and loose any Computer Display items that are in the speedo
Or
You will have to MOVE the head unit to the secret compartment (the japanese do this) and find a cable that connects from the bottom of the speedometer to the head unit. I have not seen an inexpensive cable here in the USA for doing this. Getting the cable from japan will be very expensive
Metra has been saying for over two years now that they have a module to replace the OEM head unit with so that you don't loose your display and computer info but no one can buy it as they have not released it yet.
So long story short you have a choice of one of the two above.

I would go with a differnt front speaker you have 5.25" coax speakers
You can fit a 6.5" speaker in the factory location and i would recommend to go with a component set instead of coax .
Oh and rear speakers do nothing for you
I recommend to take your budget for front and rears and spend that on a better set of front speakers
