best position for subs in the boot?

So im planning out my sub box to fit 2 JL 10s in the boot and was wondering if the subs would be better off facing up, down, at the passengers against the rear seat, or at the boot lid?

any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

I have on JL 10in facing towards the front of the vehicle. Sounds great and try to avoid pointing towards the rear since it rattles the hatch beyond belief.

I used a wedge/hatch back box for my sub and is easily removable. I also made my own RSD to free up some weight/extra space. I installed two amps using the boot space and fabricated a false bottom carpeted piece of mdf to cover them. Basically I have a huge flat space in the rear now that has my sub box only visible. I was contemplating fabricating my own false bottom box but it may more difficult than I envisioned. Ill send you some pics in the next 24hrs.

I can fit a full suitcase, military duffle bag, sub box, and a backpack along with a set of clubs in the rear now. Only negative is there are only two seats available but honestly who can fit in the rear? Maybe a full size Gnome but it wouldn't be comfortable. If your installing a whole new stereo I can help you out since I just installed mine. Just one word of precaution, be careful not to strip the U-nuts that hold in the HU..I learned the hard way.
