CD player question
I have a new 2010 with CD player. Every time I turn off the car the CD reverts back to where it started the previous time. I listen to books on CD and this is VERY annoying!! Am I doing something wrong? Is there some kind of setting in the computer to change?
Please help as I'm going on a road trip Friday, first long one in my new Mini! It's broken in now. Can't wait to go zipping!

Unfortunately that is the way it works. Now you will find that if you stop and turn off the car for a short period of time like 15 minutes or less it will probably pick right back up where it left off. This is because the computer in the car remember the position until it goes to sleep. After going to sleep it only remembers what track it was at and reverts back to the beginning of that track.
The computers go to sleep after about 15-30 minutes of no activity with the car to save on battery power.

I think the best solution is to rip the audiobook to an iPod or mp3 player. Not ideal but otherwise having to reposition the playback every time is difficult to deal with.
The headunit in the 1st generation MINI did save the CD play position indefinitely. It's very unfortunate the 2nd gen CD player does not.

Mine starts where it left off
My CD player in my 2009 JCW starts just where I left it no matter if I change over to FM for a while or turn the car off. It only will start a CD from the begining if I change a disc.
Only thing wrong with my CD/Radio is I can't hook up the factory Sirus radio. Other then that it sounds great and I like it.

And why can you not hook up the factory Sirius radio all the wiring should be there. It was not until the 2010's that they started dropping wiring harnesses for this kind of stuff.
