Sorry if this has been covered, but just wondering if there is a way to program the HK to display elapsed time in a song. I find myself constantly looking down at the radio to see how long the song has been playing - or more importantly, how much longer it will play. I couldn't find anything in the manual.

Also, to add another topic, anyone experience weird popping or thumping noises coming from the speakers? (And no, it's not the music!) I've noticed this a few times when the doors lock.

And one final note, anyone experience any skipping with CDs? My previous car was a '67 Volvo - S even, which like the old Minis had twin SU carbs. Anyway, what it had in abundance in carbs, it lacked in suspension. However, my $200 kenwood CD player *never* skipped in that car. Even during a 20 minute off road drive over some pretty serious rocks. The HK in the Mini seems to skip at least once per disc. Might I need to bring this up with the dealership? I don't want to sound too nitpicky, but am also annoyed by the skipping.

thanks!

I looked in the radio owners manual completely and the stock radio lacks a display for elapsed time. Sorry.

If all speakers have the thump or pop it is an electrical cause-I would report it to your dealer. Faulty wiring harness maybe?

If the CD skipping is a daily occurance then it needs to be reported to the dealership. My stock CD did skip after about 2 months. Occasionally. Since then I have pulled all my stock audio parts out and put in aftermarket everything.

Nope. Sorry. No elapsed time. It sucks. It's absolutely uncalled for. It should be reprogrammed to include the feature, but I doubt that will ever happen.

My HK (had it for six months) has NEVER skipped. Not once. Ever. And those pops and crackles? Never. You might have a bum system. Definitely mention it to the dealer as soon as possible.

Good luck, and welcome to MCO!

Yes! I've been meaning to ask the same question. My H/K will occasionally "pop" or thunk as I drive away, sometimes coinciding with the doors locking but not always. No idea why.
