just change the back speakers in '09 hi-fi?!

Hola all-
I know this has been discussed (to death) in numerous threads, & I apologize for not finding (or perhaps understanding) the answer myself.

I have an '09 with the hi-fi & i'm very happy with the front speakers, but the the back speakers are atrocious. They have almost no volume, they sound almost like they're blown. I had the dealer check 'em & he said that's what they are, just for added bass, the fronts are where all the power is.
So here's my question(s)~

Can just the back speakers be changed, somewhat easily & affordably?
How much?
Who can do it (Mini, Best Buy, a car stereo place (do they still exist?!))?

I don't mean to bug y'all. I really tried reading through all the other posts (the dozens & dozens of 'em), but most of the tech. jargon just goes over my head & I don't want a massive project, nor a massive expense.
I'd just like the back speakers to provide a lil' more power to my listening pleasure...

Thanks so so much!

Enjoy the day-
Robt

You can get 6x9's from anywhere between $50-200, depends what you buy.

MINI dealers would probably charge you the hourly rate(150ish/hr), and there is quite a bit of tear down required.

Be forewarned about best buy. They will tell you that they know how to do a MINI. Thats probably a dirty lie. As I watched the guy do my fronts like a hawk and thank god I did because he nearly ripped the speaker grille, thats plastic welded to the panel, right off. I then told him how to do the entire job. Turns out he didnt know anything about the car. But they will probably charge $70 to put in a set of 6x9's.

Car Stereo places still exist. You just have to look for em.

Hope that Helps and you no longer feel totally.

If you are happy with the front speakers, doing the front/rear channel swap would probably be enough. The problem is that MINI cuts the bass to the rears, probably had problems with panels vibrating.

Channel swap does no good for the HiFi sytem. It ONLY works on the Base System.

Changing the rears will probably not do what you want them to do. The rear of the HiFi system has 4 channels two for tweeters and 2 for base and midrange.

changing 6x9's in the rear will cause the highs to be overbearing unless you disable the tweeters in the new 6x9's. Unfotunately most 6x9 speakers are not as efficient as the ones that are in teh car and thus will reduce the sound output.
