Dialing a pause with Bluetooth

I just got my new MINI yesterday. What a blast! I'm having one small issue. When I'm dialing a number from the phonebook of my phone (HTC Touch Diamond), I can't dial the numbers that have commas in them for pauses. For instance, something like this:

905-555-1212,1234#

That would dial the number, then pause, then enter a password with pound key.

I've got a bunch of numbers set up like this that worked flawlessly dialing through my hands-free headset, but the MINI seems to have trouble with commas. Is there another character I can use to replace the comma when I want to dial a pause?

If you are just selecting the number from the dash I am not sure why you are having a problem as the phone is the item doing the dialing so it should work just as if you were dialing from the phone. I know my Blackberry does this without problem.

So are you using the dash to select the number from the phone book or are you using the phone keypad?

I'm using the dash to select the number. I think the MINI interacts with different phones in different ways, which is why you can do voice dialing with some phones and not with others. I believe the MINI has transferred all my phone numbers into its own directory, and dials the numbers numerically via Bluetooth. It doesn't seem to have transferred the commas over, because if I edit the phone number from the dash, I just see the parts after the comma, and not the whole phone number.

It's too bad the Bluetooth kit didn't come with a manual that was more complete and more accurate. There's a lot of trial and error involved with this system!

My 2008 never had this issue (and still works fine), but my 2010 has never been able to handle the extra digits. Doesn't matter whether I use control to select or voice.
