OK, I bought my 05 MCS used, and I didn't get any manuals or really any docs at all with the car. I believe I have the stock base head unit (pictured below).

Where can I find a manual for this stereo? What make and model is it? What options/upgrades are available for it? What are its specs?

Hi Tom, the head units are the same, so its hard to tell what you have. The
H K stereo speakers will have the surrounds on the speakers that say Harmon Kardon. I believe the boost stereo will have a boost 'amp' in the cargo area (rear of the car-behind the plastic 'lid') on the passenger side. You should go onto eBay, there are always manuals on there for sale. Hope that helps...and congrats on the car!!!

 

Well, here's the manual for the MINI radio.

 

As he said the HU are mostly all the same. Americans generally all got the radio that has a skinny volume **** which is made by Alpine and is a boost. It doesn't matter if you have HK or not, it is the same radio. The only other radio that made it here was the one with a large flat **** and it was made by Siemens VDO. The basic difference was that it could handle TMC in Europe. I put one of these in my MINI to get traffic on my nav.
