Bluetooth/Phone - storing numbers w/o downloading phonebook

Can you store phone numbers without downloading your phone book? If so, are the numbers easy to access? Can you see a list & toggle numbers?

If you have the NAV, the answer is yes. I'm not sure how it works without the NAV.

With Out the NAV you can store numbers but there is no way to see them and there is a 20 number limit. And the really bad news is that depending on the phone you have it may or may not work.

The problem is that on some phones if the name used or the number used is in the contact list of the phone it will not work from the MINI number storage.

I.E. if you set up in the MINI

MONICA 123-234-3456 and either the name Monica or the nubmer 123-234-3456 is in the contact list then the MINI may not be able to have the phone dial the number.

Thank you for the replies

It's a bit disappointing that there is no way to see the phone list. While my current car has that ability, it doesn't seem to be the norm with any of the cars I am looking at. Thank you again.

I see the phone's contact list in my car with out any problem. Now i do not have NAV so there is cosome scrolling to be done but i can move thru it from the controls on the steering wheel or the dash (speedo).

Now there are some phones that do not transfer the phone's contact list but most do.
