Anyone familiar with Mini's new 2nd generation Garmin navigation kit? It uses the Garmin Nuvi 1260 and a different mounting bracket than the original. The Garmin lists for $287 and the bracket $113 (according to ecstuning.com)

I bought the kit for a 2012 Mini Hardtop kit #65902219401.

Went in easy,(drill out the two rivets on back so you can have 180 degree GPS movement) and it fits my Garmin Nuvi50.

Looking for the wiring diagram for where to splice the power connection.

Got it for $115 from Mini. It has the ball on it so the NUvi can mount. The bigger screens block a little of the tach.

If anyone has the 2nd gen install instructions from the Mini service manual, please post it.

There is a Bentley Manual that finally came out about 7 months ago. But that covers all the basic maint. and repairs. Cost $79-$149 depending on where you can find it for sale.

Instructions for Options Installations and Add on Installations only come with the kits. Very hard to get them otherwise.

I bought the same kit - no install instruction. Unlike older kits with 4-wire loom, this kit is a 2-wire. Did you spliced them to pin 17 & 18 without both out from the X9002 connector?

I ended up getting power from the cig lighter. I removed the cup holder screws and tapped the wires.

I got skitish when I saw pins and pictured the Airbag blowing up in my face.

Works great. Took 30 minutes to do, 45 minutes to scratch my head.

 

Just bought retrofit kit #65902219401.


anyone have the instructions? or I can use this one about for kit#65902155951?
