One pad would be fine for a set of 61/2" speaker, now if you were using these in a sub box that would be a different story.

I only ever installed 1 pad and the difference was noticable. We had one customer come in for us to just intall the pads his system was already in place and the midbass noticably increased.

One trick I would show people in my car was to roll my window down so it would block the pad. Then the could hear it with a flat surface behind and then with the dynaxorb, it was a big difference . There are other factors on this too I was removing some of the speaker volume so I know its not a compleatly fair test but you get the idea.

they are super inexpensive for what results you get

Only a small area of the door behind the 6.5" speaker can be easily accessed. I have Dynamat Xtreme in there now. Are you saying that would be sufficient to absorb the back wave distortion? I'm doing this prophylactically, I don't have the new system installed yet, and I'm not sure I would be able to distinguish back wave distortion from speaker quality.

back wave deflection is about 34th on the list of things that need to be addressed to get good imaging in a vehicle

i think you are on overload with reading...turn your computer off for a few days an "process"....

That is great advice ,
You can drive yourself nuts over the details, I know I do sometimes (I am sure I am pouring kerosene on this fire for you ).

That is how I ended up with a set of $4700 speakers

It took me purchasing about 5 to 6 sets before I finally just bought the ones I wanted regardless of price

I think you mentioned you had a set installed before and you did not like them so it's good to have a reference point .

I do think its good to get into the door once so putting them in is cheap and takes about 2 minutes when you are already in the door.

I would ask yourself this , if you don't put them in do you think you would want to go back in later to do so? In other words are you the type that says to yourself
"I probably should have dont that while I was in the door ". If so them put em in reagardless of how hard/ how much area is back there . You can only work with what you have and sometimes that is a bar or sheet metal blocking something

Robin , what are you using to get a signal from the factory headunit?

I think what MiniSq is saying is there pleatly other areas that would take a front seat to this and he is correct. I feel like you get you $20 bucks worth on this accesory but it is not going to change your life.

Want to have all the parts ready when I begin the project. It can be really annoying to be in the middle of it and have to wait on some part to arrive.

Infinity Kappas.

It would be great to get the window out and soundproof the door, but I hear that it is a nightmare in the R56. I know someone who had a pro shop with an excellent reputation, and lots of high-end car experience, do a $3,000 job on a MC. They put Dynamat in the doors, and had to tell her to take it to the dealer to get the door fixed at their expense.

I've just ordered two DynaXorb pads.

The X9331 connector.
