We just ordered a Mini with navigation, and my wife is into geocaching. Has anyone tried loading cache coordinates (or any other custom points of interest) into the Mini's navigation system?

Or is there any background as to what Mini use for the navigation system (like who made it, is it similar to any other consumer devices, etc.)?

I can not answer your specific questions about entering coordinates or exactly what navigation system it uses but i can tell you the maps come form NAVTEQ.

As for the geocaching. I and my family and friends have done a lot of it. There has only been one geocache place (Virtual Cache I.E. Sign on building) that could be found while in the car, all others were more than 100 yards (300+ feet) from any road so it would make the use of the Nav System totally useless to help in finding the Cache.

The Majority of GeoCache's will require a hand held GPS to find the location, Unless of course you are doing large city (Boston, Chicago, New York, Dallas etc) Virtual or Mystery Caches.
