I looked for a similar post but I found none.

When I turn off the Mini the Ipod seem to keep charging and staying lit (or at least dark with something present on the screen)...this is what worries me. I don't want it to use up my car battery or something. The music on the Ipod stops but the Ipod it self seems to stay on.

Is this O.K...normal...or bad. How do I get it to turn off...or does it shut of by itself a little later.

Here are some stats:
Ipod...configured for windows
Connected by mini y cable
Convience controls on wheel

Any help or suggestions or just words of wisdom would be awesome!!

 

If the iPod is not playing (it isn't) it uses very little power and switches itself off in 10 mins. The radio and iPod adapter turns off after 30 mins anyway.

Actually the 5VDC that the USB port is provided is on all the time. So the iPod will have power at all times.

The only suggestion I have for you is do not leave the iPod in the car when it will be very hot or cold this is very bad for the battery.
