Nav OS

Has anyone been able to "crack" the navigation operating system on the second generation nav system so it could be "revised" like what's been done on the earlier nav systems? Some great work by individuals on NAM did some great work on the earlier nav systems and it would be great to have some options for the second gen nav system. Thanks.

Nope. According to the wiring diagram's, any programming of the cars system requires it to be connected to a computer of some sort at the dealer, ie, it's not done through the DVD/CD drives in the car. Must have some thing to do with the fact the 2nd gen cars use the CAN bus.

The "famous" Apple user here claimed she had cracked it but never could provide any proof and later in other threads ("Free Classic Mini") was found to be a total fraud anyway.
