Hey want to know if anyone has done this. I have an 03 cooper and I'm getting the dice ipod adapter but it says I wont have text on the screen if i'm pre 05 so I found an 06 radio. Is this a direct swap just plug it in and go? and how can I tell if its actually out of an 06?

 

Yep, direct swap, plug and play. The head unit will have a manufacture date, but the easiest way to tell is the volume ****. The newer units have larger volume ***** with ridges, while the earlier ones have small, smooth volume *****.
