iPod issue a good one

heres the deal, my i pod mini plays fine using the random, scrolling, the tracks, playing and changing through MFSW. By the way its a OEM mini
ipod unit. When I go to use my nano heres what takes place.

1. plays the 1st track, if withing 30 seconds if I dont advance to another track or song. it will still play the 1st song even though I track
to say song #5. Weird. I know its not the interface because the Ipod Mini works fine. The only thing I can do is turn off the radio disconnect
the nano and put in the other Ipod.

How can I find a earlier version I level software would that help
or not. If not then I have to have play song after song and makes the radio buttons and MFSW renderless.

thanks for your inputs.

Guido

mine does that as well when it feels like it you can be in the middle of a track hit next and it goes to its own song and will stay there sometimes it will give you 3-5 choices! I just unplug the iPod and back in!

Have you tried to restore the iPod? Which generation nano? Did the nano work prior to a particular software update? If your MINI is under warranty have you asked the dealership if there is a software update for the car? I know there were rumors flying that BMW recently came out with an update for the R56 with iPod link after the iPhone 3G/4th gen nano to make it work reliably, although that was partially for a charging/power issue.

Similar situation

We have recently noticed the same "lack of control" as previously posted. Plus, when we lose that control, the iPod connected locks up and we have to reset the iPod (1st gen nano). This is newly discovered behavior within the last week. Hmmmm....
