HELP! coins in the CD player

I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my MINI's CD player until my wife told me that our 2 year old son (bless him) stuffed a bunch of coins into her CD player. I noticed that my change holder was suspiciously empty this morning, and the player would not take a CD. Any suggestions??

Really about there are only about two things you can do.

1. take it apart yourself and see if you can get the coins out. This thread will tell you how to take the dash apart to do this. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=105178

then remove the cover of the radio cd unit and get the coins out. If after that it does not work then take it to the dealer for a warranty repair.

2. take it to the the dealer and hope they are nice an put it in as a warranty repair.

I decided to just bite the bullet and take it to the dealer. I dropped it off this morning and grabbed the customer shuttle to town. I just got a phone message that it's "fixed" -- no idea what the damage is yet...........

No serious damage!

$250 later, less the $2.40 they returned from the CD player, and it's good as new.
