OEM BLuetooth Kit fot R56?
Hello everyone. I have gone over lots of different threads but I have not been able to find what I am looking for. I hope someone out there could point me in the right direction.
I want to install a Bluetooth kit on my 2008 Cooper S. It's got the controls on the steering wheel,so I was considering a Parrot 3000 kit with the integration accessory that makes it work with the steering wheel controls and the stereo. Unfortunately, I have read so many threads from people saying that the parrot kit is rubbish so I decided no to istall it. I was wondering if is it possible to have an OEM Bluetooth kit installed? Is that even possible? If not, has anyone else installed something like this that acually works? Thanks a lot for your help!

It is possible to retrofit the OEM Bluetooth but the cost is out over the top. The lowest quote i have seen to do it was over $1200.00. That is just way to much in my book. There is also a lot of labor hours that would have to go into taking the dahs all a part etc.
The problem is that it is not just a simple plug in item, there will probably be more than one module needed and each one is expensive and i t may also require an extra wiring harness if it was not originaly installed.
The Question i have is why you have a MFSW? What did you order that would have the MFSW and not the bluetooth.
As for your option of the Parrot, i have heard both good and bad reports. The problem is that you have a newer car and they may not have worked out all the kinks with the new MOST system that is in the car. Also remember that there will alwasy be more complaints to be heard than good comments as people do not usually brag about how good something is but will ALWAYS make complaints if they do nto like it.

Thanks for the insight
. The thing is I didn't order the car, I chose it from what was available at the time and honestly I have no idea why the car didn't come with bluetooth if it is wired for it. I thought it would be easier to have an OEM system installed. I thought it would be a fairly easy task, but for what you tell me it is not. I have tried to get some info about this from the people at the MINI dealership but noone knows anything... They say a kit for the R56 should be comming thing Fall but, who knos... On the other hand I was considering the Parrot System because it's been the only one I've seen that can be fitted to work with the car controls. You are right is what you say, you will always hear about the bad experiences, not the good ones. I am just a little worried because the install on the PArrot System will go for $650, which is cheaper but I am not sure how will it work... On the other hand I have seen how the OEM system works and it works pretty good. I haven't had the chance to actually see a Parrot system in action... That is why I am trying to find more about this topic.
There's also the mObridge kit- although it still uses the Parrot stuff for Bluetooth. A little bit more OEM in appearance than the other Parrot kits, since it goes over the MOST bus like the OEM pieces, but also may end up being more expensive. Since you still have to get the CD changer software installed at the dealer for it to work.
Can you now give me some more info about the car.
Do you have navigation?
How do you know it does not have bluetooth installed?
what packages does the car have? i.e. sport, cold whether etc.
There may be other questions or things to check after these are answered.

Schatzy, my car has the 6 Speaker sound system, no nav with the mini ipod adapter which works throug the aux imput. And it has no bluetooth because the option is not available in the main menu... When you press the phone button, the bluetooth menu should pop up, but nothing happens. The people at the dealership told me that even dough the car has the phone buttons it doesn't mean it has bluetooth...
