ipod question

hello
I just got my mini cooper yesterday and i love it.

However, my ipod doesn't seem to work well with my mini.
When I use my USB stick to listen to music, it shows all the playlists and i can control changing music from my sport wheel with multifuntion.

However, when I use my ipod, the navi screen doesn't show the playlists and I cannot change my music from my sport wheel with multifunction. I have to press button on the ipod.
I thought the playlist should show up on the screen and that I could use my wheel to control the music.
Is it not??

Have you tried a different iPod? How old is your iPod? Have you updated the firmware on it lately?

The $150 question...do you have the iPod adapter that plugs into the iPod and has a USB AND an "aux out" on the other end? Without it you will not have the ability to control the iPod through the stereo

I am in the processo fo configuring my Mini and I want to make sure I have the right adapter for controlling the iPod through the stereo and navigating the playlists in the NAV screen. The adapter that you mention is the one included in the Convenience Package (Comfort Bluetooth with USB/iPod Adapter)?
