Navigation & AudioAudio upgrades, bluetooth, and navigation discussions surrounding the Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs.
Is there no way to change the color scheme on my built in Nav screen? I just got my new clubman and I miss all the fun colors of my Nuvi! The screen always appears to be in night mode, yet in the manuel it seems like the maps are in happy daylight colors. Any advice, I'm really not enjoying it that much!
The pic in your gallery is from a 1st gen car, not a 2nd gen. On the 2nd gen cars, the nav screen doesn't look like that, and it's always a dark background.
I hope you can change it! I saw in one post a guy said his magically turned into something that looked like "day mode" one day and then magically turned back. I'd really love to change it!
Well, thats great to hear b/c I was having some doubts just before I added the factory nav to my order, b/c I think I liked the garmin type 3d better than how the fac nav is set up as. So , if you can get it workin , that would be awesome. 3d and british female voice would be great
The 2nd gen Nav comes with the 3d view standard. It has north up, track up, and 3d view. Good luck on the color change. The nav dvd only has map/poi data. The Mini logo and all other parts are stored in the car somewhere, not on that disc. You can use every part of the Nav system except the navigation (ie, radio, car settings, phone, etc) without the nav dvd, which comes in handy if you want to burn a DVD full of MP3s and don't need the navigation function. There was a thread here from last year which talked about the Pimp My Nav software and the 2nd gen model. It was a fairly heated thread about how bad the POI system is. I think it's locked now but the Pimp My Nav part may be of use to you. I don't think anyone ever got it to work right on a 2nd gen car. Worked fine on the 1st gen.
anyone have a list of the files on the map disc?
We get quarterly update discs from Navteq, and i'm wondering if I can utilize that somehow.
Here ya go. Not the 2008 disc, from my 2007 week 34 build. 2007.2 I think it was. Navteq still doesn't list any updates for the 2007+ models. In an email I sent in April they said they have a 2008 update. You have to phone them to get it I guess.
