No "MINI", and "No Magazine" - HELP
I just bought an 06 R50 this past Saturday. LOVE this car! The Ipod interface worked fine at first. The screen on the Ipod never reverted back to the standard screen from "mini", so I unplugged it from the car. This was before I read the owner's manual. I resynced with my computer and the Ipod went into regular Ipod mode. Now The the interface won't recognize the Ipod. "MINI" doesn't come up on the Ipod screen, and "no magazine" is displayed on the radio face. I've searched the threads, but couldn't easily find an answer. I'm 1.5 hours from the nearest MINI dealer. How do I get the interface and the Ipod to recognize each other again?
Thanks,
Fritz

First, congrats on buying a MINI.
I am assuming that the R50 did not have the Ipod interface manual in the glove box when you bought your MINI. According to the manual, in order for the radio to sync with the Ipod, the radio must be on when you connect. Also the radio must be off when you disconnect the Ipod. Hope it helps.

You have the Ipod interface AND the CD Changer? I didn't think that was possible. When installing the interface you have to disconnect the wires that go to the CD changer and connect the wires from the Ipod interface. That fools the system into thinking the Ipod is the CD changer.
Perhaps you have the Aux input jack instead?
