MINI System Overhaul

So I've had my mini now for a little under a year and I've been wanting to redo the system in it. It came with the H/K system and I sold all that stuff and put in all brand new equipment. Here is the list of items I've put in:

Alpine IDA-X001 Headunit
Alpine SPS-171A - 6.5inch Components
Alpine SPS-C962 - 6x9 Two Way Coax
Alpine SWS-1023D - 10inch Sub
Alpine MRP-M450 - 400 Watt Mono Amp
Alpine MRP-F450 - 4 channel

I've been working on it as I had time, I just recently finished all the dynamating and wire running. What a pain. LoL. Complete new wires ran to everything. Only got power for radio on the factory wires. Bare with me on the pics. They are older as I forgot to get pics of the Amp mounting (which are done under both seats. Foam removed from both, carpet cut and full dynamat under and around each.) And I forgot pics of the rear dynamating done. But the car is almost fully dynamated. (I used edead but everyone knows what dynamat is lol) I'm now removing the headunit to go with a screen/nav set up. More pics on that when it's done. Here she is:

Nice setup, how do you like the sound quality of that deck? I had a buddy with one that wasn't that impressive, but I suppose it has to do with how well you record onto the ipod. Some of his songs would be bassy, and others without. sounded like it was all over the place

I've had no probs at all with songs on my pod. All the music on there I've either bought from Itunes, or I copied from the cd's I bought. I'm not one to go Dl music from the ptp stuff so all my songs sound great.

Nice work!

So you kept the tweeters stock?

Did you have the Bentley manual to guide you through taking the car apart
? Did you "dynamat" the backside of the door inserts?

They are not stock tweeters, they are the alpine ones fitted into the stock location. If your talking about the door panels themselves then yes I covered the backs of them as well. Also felted the edges of them to reduce vibration there. I did not like the idea of having unstock looking doorpanels.

By tweeters, I meant the little suckers high up in the door.

About how long would you say it took to treat a door with the sound deadener? thanks.

I know, The tweeters are aftermarket in the factory spot With the panel back on, looks stock. I got the edead on ebay for like 80 bucks. Think it was like almost 100sqft of it. Doing the doors completely took me about 2 days working 3-4 hours a day. I did not want to rush it and I was in no hurry.
