Where is my XM Receiver?

I have a 2004 MCS with the HK system. Someone added on the XM stuff (it is FM modulated, since I have to be tuned to a specific frequency to hear it). I would like to route it into my regular headunit, and free up the space under the toggles for some instrumentation.

Here's my problem. I cannot find the receiver anywhere! I have looked in the boot, in both cubbies, in the battery compartment, under the rear seats, in the glove compartment, and any where else I could think of. The antenna is in the rear and the wire runs into the grommet for the decklid, so I thought maybe it's in the back. But it is FM modulated, so I thought maybe it's in the front.

I haven't checked under the hood (I just thought of that), but otherwise I am coming up dry.

Does anyone have any ideas where an aftermarket XM receiver might be?

your best bet is to follow the cable. Either one, from the display or from the antenna. I usually put them behind the glovebox.

If it's FM Modulated it may be under the dash somewhere. Maybe behind the glove box, or under the dash on the drivers side. The knee bolster just drops down with a firm tug. Might be double stick taped on that panel.
What model is it? Do you know what it looks like? Might be easier to determine where it is if we knew how small it was.
I added XM direct to my truck this fall so I could use the XM direct box from the Mini when it was in storage for the winter. The adapter from the factory radio to the XM direct unit was small enough to get tucked behind the factory radio. Just an example of how something like that could easily get tucked into a corner and hidden.
