Purchase XM Radio, includes new XM Sure Connect Technology, read more inside...
I finally gave in, and bought an XM Radio to add to my existing account. I purchased the following unit :
http://www.xmradio.com/xpress/index.xmc
AudioVox Express Receiver.
This thing included something known as Sure Connect Technology. Attached to this thread are 2 images of the device that enables this "technology", lol (imo, it's a cable, but w/e)
I need to know, how I can utilize the piece in the middle, which according to the documentation, is designed to be used with the included car antenna, WITH the antenna wire under my passenger seat.
It seems the pink connector in the seat under-area is too large to go in this device.
The round piece in the middle is the piece I am wanting to use to connect to the antenna already in my car.
(sorry about the blooming onion, btw)

What I recommend is that you use the supplied XM antenna and run it behind the center stack and under the back of the passenger side of your dash and then up along the door seal (the lead hides well) and then put the antenna on the very right front of your dash. There is a seem there that you can use a credit card or something plastic to push the lead down out of sight. Go to radio shack and get a STEREO mini plug (male-male) and plug into your aux in. Either use the cig power (less clean) or direct wire into a fused link at the fuse panel (go to myradio.com and order the direct wire kit for $19.95). Forget the sure connect. I don't think there is any way to use it with our antenna and it is FM based. The aux in is a clear direct signal and sounds great.
Well I didn't want the extra antenna on my car.
And I've taken the antenna that came with my radio, plugged it into that mid section, and the sureconnect piece, from the photo, inserted into my radio. and it does work. It doesn't have to be via FM.
That's one of the options, of which there are 2 or 3.
I have the aux audio connector, since I used it with my ipod and iphone.
I need an extension cable, basically, for the antenna in my mini, that slims it down to go into the mid section of the sure connect cable.

Tho I'm still interested, I've installed it and ran the antenna wire thru the weatherstripping into my car. I had to hide the mass amount of extra wire under the center console. Attached is a picture. Is this going to melt my wires in anyway? (where the tips of my fingers are is where the extra wire has been hidden).
Came out as an incredibly clean install.
