Navigation & Audio Eclipse CD7100 Manual?
Eclipse CD7100 Manual?
So far, I can not find any reviews on this unit, nor is it in any stores I have called so far, and I can not even find a reasonable amount of info on it! Even from Eclipse site! A manual would go a long way... anyone have a download link for the manual? Anyone actually use the unit? One this I have noticed with the lower model Eclipse, when you go to turn the **** to search through artists/albums/whatever (with an iPhone/iPod attached), the 3 horizontal boxes are blank for a moment.... unlike the Alpine (9887 for example), but the display on the 9887 is ugly as sin, and the horrendus controls/terrible display for all the settings is a REAL turn off....
If iPod is your thing, you should definitely check out the Alpine IDA-X001. Nice screen (although glare tends to wash it out on sunny days), super-speedy iPod scrolling/controls, and decent sound. Plus you can hook up bluetooth, USB drives, HD-Radio, and an external DSP, depending on your budget. The Eclipse does have nice pre-out voltages, though (8V vs. 2V on the Alpine). I actually did quite a bit of research on head-units a few months ago, and basically narrowed it down ot the Eclipse CD7100, Pioneer Premier 880PRS, JVC ADV38, and Alpine X001. In the end, I went with the Alpine as it had options to add everything, and I wanted a super nice EQ (added the Alpine H701) too.
For the Eclipse, you should definitely check out Crutchfield's hands-on review here. They go into a lot of detail, probably to the point where you don't need to see the manual...
