Post for mounting V1 using light switch plate?

A couple of months go in a thread there was a post where another member had customer mounted his V1 usig a blank light switch plate from Lowes. I have been searching for an hour and still canot locate the post. He had pictures and the way it mounted was very stealthy. Could someone direct me to this post if the know about it.

I plan on doing the same thing and want to see it again and possibly ask the member a couple of questions.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. None of those had the write-up but I still have a good idea how it was done. BTW, the first link didn't work for me for some reason.

Thanks again!

I remember the post, and I remember replying to it...I've just spent 20 minutes trying all sorts of searches, and browsing through 20 pages of subscribed threads..and I still can't find it!

What makes it tough is NAM's search thinks V1 is too small a term so you can't search by that, and people don't usually spell out valentine each time.

Anyway, I planned to use his method till I came up with a little bit nicer way, using the included visor clip and a little velcro to attach it to the headliner.

Not necessarily totally on-topic, but I've got an '06 MCS with Nav and here's what I did to mount my Valentine1 (V1) - using the suction cup mount, I have it stuck to the windshield just above the left side of my rear-view mirror. I then mounted the concealed display unit on the top of my steering wheel between the tach and speedo. It fits perfectly and doesn't block either. The display is perfectly in view between the tach and speedo, and the "mute" button is also easily accessible except when I'm turning.

I use Google to search NAM. vBulletin search sucks, has always sucked, and probably always *will* suck. Go to Google and prefix your search with "site:northamericanmotoring.com". That'll limit the scope to just NAM.
