Navigation & Audio engine noise coming through speakers
engine noise coming through speakers
just installed my 6.5" components in the front doors, and i have the amp (temporarliy) just laying in the boot, and you can hear a high pitched whine in the speakers when you hit the gas. cant hear it unless the volume is pretty low, but i still wanna fix it. is it becuase the amp is right over the battery (i read a few times that sometimes thats the issue)
"Sounds" like you have a groud loop problem.. It is very typical when adding components to the MINI audio system. Look for a groud loop isolator (GLI) device.. It can be found at Radio Shack for ~$16 with RCA end connections..
Plug this in close to the head unit (if possible) and the engine whine should be gone..
Good luck

even though everything is aftermarket? (HU, amp, speakers, sub) im not using any of the stock wiring either.
where do i plug the RCA's from the GLI to though? got a link to one to give me a better idea?
