>>The rocket pack concept – ya. Accelerate to a gazillion MPH for 100 feet just in time to make that next 15 MPH turn. I can see you going in to orbit off the cliff now.

Another accomodations update:

I spoke with Fontana Village today, and although they have released our block of rooms, they will still give the block rates to anyone who calls for reservations between now and April 29. They do still have some inn rooms available (although I couldn't seem to pin her down on just how many). There are also some 2 and 3 bedroom cabins still available. Their phone number is 800-849-2258.

NEW ACCOMODATIONS:

I've blocked off 3 (all they had left) double rooms for April 29- May1at the Phillips Motel in Robbinsville. Rates are $45-50 a night. Phone number is 828-479-3370. These rooms will be held for one month and then released, so act fast for these low, low rates. I'll repeat, these rooms will be released as of March 24.

I'll definitely add myself to the SLOW list.... I hooked up at the gas station last year with a few driving to the Pisgah Inn, and they scared be bejesus out of me just trying to stay within sight of them. I'll have ditched my runflats by the end of this week and am switching to BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2's.... according to TireRack's reviews they beat every tire I looked at.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ce+T%2FA+KDW+2

And so far as I know, I'll be the first to use them on a MINI.

Alright, I'm in!

Just booked at the Fontana Village Inn - I think they have 3 more rooms available. Can't wait to see everyone! Now I just have to figure out what I'm supposed to bring, besides the MINI!

Travis (who expects to do a lot of 'splainin' about my screen name and green car...)

Sarcux, you just have to come. I must see Sprog II in person!

No excuses. I have already informed my professor that I must take my exam early as I am in a friend's wedding in North Carolina cannot take my exam at the scheduled time Thursday evening.

So, anybody getting married at the Dragon this year?

I just scheduled my classes for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday... means I might have to run off early on Monday morning to drive back to VA... but I'm betting it will be worth it!

Okay, I'm in... but I won't be able to leave until friday. Can someone please e-mail me at president@minineo.org? I'd like to stay at the "party house"... don't have a ton of cash. I just need general info on the meet - where to go, where to meet people, etc. I can find my way down there myself. Mayhaps even drag some other club members. Any help would be appreciated! I'm too busy right now to scour the website for everything.

Midnight on the Dragon T-Shirts ! ! !

I am now completing my design for the Midnight Run T-Shirts. They are going to be awesome! Printed on the highest quality midnight-black 100% Cotton Hanes Beefy-T that will be soft on the skin for MINI renegades that hate polyester as much as I do

Sorry the pic is small, but the MINI image is an x-ray view of a MINI showing the engine and drivetrain components.

I'd like to get a head-count (or torso count) of all who would like shirts. Price depends somewhat on how many I order, but I expect them to be approximately $15. Please indicate preferred size or I will order you a Large

Even if you are a sleepy-head and can't make the Midnight Run, you can still order the T-shirt! Don't be left in the dark without one!

Please post in the
Midnight On the Dragon Thread if you would like to reserve one for yourself

I am looking forward to driving with different people.Since it is sort of my home turf I always like to ride bikes or drive cars with other people so I can see how they do. I just hope that everyone drives their own pace and gets home safe.

Mmf, anyone have an extra spot for a broke college kid like me to stay? I'll cover half the cost of the room, or whatever my share would be. Please lemme know! SarcuxKSU@msn.com.

Hopefully my tires will hold up that long. Running on bald, flat-spotted euphori@s...

Looking forward to my Yokos!

So, yeah, I'm beggin' ye, peeps!

not the answer you were hoping for, but if all else fails consider making it a camping trip.... there's a nice campground right down the road from Fontana Village, right on the way to Deal's Gap. Get a tent, sleeping bag, and a thermarest pad and you'd be set....

I've got a feeling that's what we're gonna end up doing. Grandparents are not feeling too well recently, so I don't want to burden them with us. We love to camp, so we may just pitch it and make it a camping weekend. We have a tent big enough to park the MINI in and an air matress with a stand, feels like sleeping on a hotel bed. The MINI will be quite packed down, but we will definitely be saving money and having a fun weekend doing it.
