Are we all ready to do it again next year?? (If not before?)

Same weekend next year? (Not too hot; not too many tourists) ??

acetonic May 25, 2003 07:25 PM

I'm ready right now!
Let's beat monsoon season next year though. Or wait till the roads are washed out again so we won't have as much non-MINI traffic!

Nobull60 May 25, 2003 08:10 PM

I missed the first one but how does an October run sound?? Leaves starting to change and weather is really nice that time of year. Then again in May. Two times a year sounds like fun so those who can't wait to do it in May can in October. Or just the oppisite.

'*Ace*' May 25, 2003 08:14 PM

From what I hear it sounds like one of the best runs around. I would love to do it as soon as possible. Where is located again?

Nobull60 – when I was there a few weeks back, I was told by a few people who went often about the fall. The leaves are turning and the people come from everywhere to see it.

Leaves on this road and possibly damp conditions may cost you or your car dearly if you drive it aggressively.

Tourists in the area will block the road looking at the leaves on the trees. Here again, may cost you or your car dearly if you drive it aggressively.

It may seem like a great time of the year, but to come around a blind corner at 50 MPH and finding an RV stopped in the middle of the road is not something I’d like to see or do.

Over on M2, we've started organizing for next year. I've copied the way the Brits do it, and keep an updated list of participants with hotel information on the first post. Here's the link: Dragon's Run 2004

I'll keep checking this thread, and adding names from here, too.

Draikonius Jun 9, 2003 05:19 PM

Count me in too
David +1
And by the way, the Dragon Run T-Shirts are almost finished (some minor problems have been sorted out) and should be on the way NLT next week. I would like to thank everyone for bearing with me on this project. Next year I plan to set up a PayPal account, take orders well in advance and deliver the shirts at the run. (I guess is should remember the 7 P's - Proper Prior Planning Prevents Pi$$ Poor Performance

Ryephile Jun 10, 2003 04:53 PM

Of course you can count me in!!!
This years was SO much fun, however I think we need to make a few changes...

#1 Nametags!
#2 Satellite phones, lol
#3 An "everyone's here" event so we can get a chance to meet with many more members than this year (ties in with #1)

I'm also gonna pick up a Schroth harness to keep me in the seat more during runs down The Dragon.

---> Chad, we'll have to Motor down together, and yes, the MMMC members better be attending next year!!

Cheers,
Ryan

Name tags are a good idea, but I'm leaving that up to each driver. Also, there will be a "meet and greet" Thursday evening. I'll post details on M2 when I complete the arrangements for that.

I should be burning the copies of my Dragon movie this weekend and I'll get yours in the mail to you next week.

>><perk> Dragon Movies?!?!? David...hook me up!!

Not to worry Holly, I'm going to try and bring a couple of copies to the June 21st meet. I mounted my camera in my car for the Dragon run, 2MINIS and SNDWAVE are the main stars since they were in front of me on the way down. It came out pretty good for just deciding to do it on the fly.

i would like a copy, if at all possible, pleaseee

minimotorin Jun 11, 2003 05:55 AM

Don't know how many copies I can make (I'm having to use the Brother-in-laws machine since mine doesn't have a DVD burner. Once I make them I'll pass a few out, 2MINIS, SNDWAVE have dibs on the first two and we'll see what I have left after that.
